Description

Delicious and easy Chicken Breasts Stuffed with store-bought stuffing, seasoned perfectly and baked to juicy perfection. This recipe makes for a comforting main course ideal for family dinners and pairs well with gravy and fresh herbs.

Ingredients

Scale

Seasoning

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

Chicken and Stuffing

  • 1 box store bought stuffing 6 ounces
  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts

Instructions

  1. Prepare Stuffing: Prepare the stuffing according to the package instructions so it is ready to be used as a filling.
  2. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray or line a baking pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  3. Season Chicken: In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and poultry seasoning. Sprinkle this seasoning mix evenly on both sides of each chicken breast.
  4. Create Pocket: Using a sharp knife, carefully cut horizontally into the side of each chicken breast to create a large pocket for stuffing, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  5. Stuff Chicken: Place a large spoonful of the prepared stuffing into each chicken breast pocket. Secure the opening with toothpicks or wrap with butcher’s twine to hold the stuffing inside during baking.
  6. Bake: Arrange the stuffed chicken breasts on the prepared baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness.
  7. Serve: Remove toothpicks or twine before serving. Best enjoyed with gravy and garnished with fresh parsley, thyme, or rosemary for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Cooking time depends on chicken breast size; larger breasts may need up to 50 minutes.
  • Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
  • Use fresh herbs like parsley, thyme, or rosemary for garnish to enhance flavor and presentation.
  • To make cleanup easier, line the baking pan with parchment paper or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
