hey there!
Hey, I'm Stella!
I'm Stella Martinez, the creator behind StellaSpoons.com. I'm a home cook, food blogger, and busy mom of two based in San Antonio, Texas, and I'm passionate about sharing recipes that bring bold flavors to your table without the fuss.
My Culinary Journey
I grew up in a Mexican-American household where the kitchen was the heart of our home. My grandmother and mother taught me that the best meals don't require fancy ingredients or complicated techniques—just fresh flavors, a little patience, and a lot of love. Those early memories of homemade tortillas, slow-simmered beans, and weekend family gatherings shaped everything I cook today.
For over 15 years, I've been cooking seriously—not just for my own family, but for church events, community gatherings, and countless dinner parties with friends and extended family. Before launching StellaSpoons, I spent years in retail management, which taught me the importance of efficiency and organization—skills that translate perfectly into running a busy kitchen.
To deepen my knowledge, I've completed several local culinary workshops here in Texas, focusing on both traditional Mexican cooking techniques and modern comfort food trends. These experiences, combined with decades of hands-on cooking for my family and community, have given me a deep understanding of what works in real home kitchens.
Why I Started StellaSpoons
I launched StellaSpoons.com in 2020 because I wanted to create a resource for real home cooks—especially busy parents like me who need dinner on the table fast, but don't want to sacrifice flavor or quality. As a mom of two school-aged kids, I understand the daily challenge of feeding picky eaters while keeping meals budget-friendly and nutritious.
What started as a simple blog has grown into a community of over 450 recipes, all tested in my own San Antonio kitchen and designed with busy families in mind.
What Makes StellaSpoons Different
My Specialty: I focus on Tex-Mex comfort food, quick weeknight dinners, and family-style meals that bring people together. You'll find a mix of healthy options and indulgent favorites—because balance is key.
